Happy New Years we are signing off for 2013!

In several hours we will welcome in 2014 and pray for all our fallen friends. Let's be grateful for what we have and move forward in the year.

We lost a lot of furry friends this year and we just can't quite stop thinking of them. The fur friends seem as real as the typists that post on Twitter. We know with no thumbs you cannot type, but we feel we are speaking right to the fur friend.

Closing out the year brings tears and joy. High hopes for next year, and sad memories behind us. We have made a few resolutions, and frankly do not want to share them for fear of jinxing them. One thing is certain, we are about change. Change is a coming as the song says.

Over the past few days our lives have shifted and we have had some sort of clarity bug hit us. We won't be as present on Twitter this coming year, and probably going to pull back more. The 5 or 6 we regularly speak with will always be in our thoughts.

We have declared this the year of Gunner and that is what we are going to do. We are entered in a few dog shows, planning on a few breedings and hopefully mending a few fences along the way.

The users and the takers are out in the trash today... Lets get 2014 rolling in a big way. Pray for the lost and hungry pets, adopt a shelter dog if you can, be kind to each other and share what you can, but reserve your best...

Much love...

Keeping up with Gunner on Twitter....

So we did our sort of shout out to our peeps that we talk with, but we didn't get to get down to the nitty gritty of it all...

Our morning starts out with a retweet from Aunt Bea with a positive message from Zelda, we truly love those and the fact she remembers us every day.

Next we get our buddy FatDaddyBulldog, he has a morning greeting for everyone and even a chuckle or two about one of my zany posts. He keeps it clean and real. No F bombs or whatknots.. It's an Oh Da Woe kind of thing. We love it... and we thank him for our daily dose of keeping it real.

Dana Pixie hasn't missed a day of #pawprayers for our family since the accident, and we are truly grateful. She is a ray of light...

Next comes Henry and Collins, this is a comic book waiting to be written. They are the modern day Lassie and Timmy, and we truly love their interactions.

Our West Coast friends are waking and their fun begins. Oswald's Pack has a platter of bulldog fun and we love it.

My favorite bulldog Stalker is by far Sam the Artistic Bulldog. She has a kind word, a cool graphic and some mad shopping skills. We love our morning reminders of how cool she really is. Thanks for the magnificent bulldog creations and your vast talent in being a super human, with a slight stalker tendency (just of Rocco)...

We cannot skip past Deuce and Maud even though the bambino on board has sidelined their tricks a bit, Deuce is the Mayor and we bow to him.

Everyone knows my bestie is Rocco and his sisfur Lola is truly an angel from heaven. Not just saying that. Roc has a job now so he is busy but he still makes time for a chit chat when he is balls to the walls busy. We love him.

Renae and Charlie are great for inspiring Mom to remember the future of our country is in the youth and Renae is our youth.

Now the sexay womens.. oh yeah you fine girls I am not forgetting you. I would love for each of you to have my babies, but I am sure your pawrents do not approve of my crazy bat crazed Mom. BOL. So here it goes, Sophie, Zoey, Lucy, Bella, Marley, Lola, the other Lola, Maud the baud, SugarLump, Ella Mae (although I need a women that can cook) Winnie, GLove, Beckett my sweet, Becky, Izzy and Louise, Prissy J and so on and so on... I would love for you to be my girlfriend..

To the dudes; yes I have my danglies, but we can still hang out, I just show off cause my Lincoln and Douglas' are my trademark.

To the adults that are my Mom's friends, thanks very much. You all know who you are, and she keeps that stuff private from me. I can tell when she is talking to a bulldog friend's Mom, she spells things out. Well hint for you, I know when you start a word with P and it ends with resents I am getting a new toy, just saying...

Truly my Twitter friends have been a life saver to us. We were shut in during the Sinkhole situation, we couldn't have survived that time without you.

This coming year, Mom is back to work YEAHHHHHHHHHH more Bone Money for me... so our time online will be limited, but please don't forget us... We lub you all very very much.

G Man !

Christmas 2013 is now in the books... Here comes 2014...

Another chapter is about to close, we are putting 2013 to bed very soon. This  has been a very interesting year filled with Love, Laughter, Fear, Pain, Heartbreak and good friends.

Through it all we could always turn to our friends and smile. We thank you. We have made new friends, renewed old friendships, lost a few and hopefully tried really hard to be a good friend.

We have hopes and dreams for 2014. Maybe be a little more private, slink back into the woodwork and enjoy ourselves. We have enough love in our house to make it a happy place.

As 2014 comes around, I want to say a special word or two for my Twitter friends.

To Rocco and Lola's family; Your generosity and love for Lola was simply heartwarming. You put your lives to the back burner and just loved, and we admire that.

To Theo and Rosie's family, Thank you for being a spark of smiles with your instagram videos. Supporting our crazy ways and being a great bulldog family.

To the late night bunch who constantly keep me in stitches, I won't blow your cover here but you all keep me laughing and feeling young... Thank you!

Thor, Sophie, Zoey, Henry Ford, Deuce, Mr Chips, Beauregard, Mandy, Aunt LizBee, Sam the stalker, Liz and Bogart, Jane, Jodi, Anna, Oswalds Pack, OMD I need a new blog list for all these, maybe I will do that... so for now, you guys make our bulldog heart swell...

To everyone on the Christmas card list. OH MY GOSH... You made our holiday so glorious, the cards that came in truly made us feel like a million bucks.

I would mail you out a personal letter but you know my Mom is still fighting with the post office...BOL...

Raise your water bowl to 2014 bringing us a huge bunch of fun and love...

Christmas Eve 2013

We are snuggling together talking about life and love. My Mom and I are really close, I luff her and she luff's me. We are a team. Tonight we will celebrate our life together in a small celebration, then Mommy will go to Midnight Mass while I stay home and MAN the cookie containers.

We are very grateful for our lives, our love and the friendships we have. It's been a tough year but we are strong and have survived. Many thanks to the friends that have been there for us.

Our Twitter friends are more like family. When one has an issue, we all do. Naturally we are closer to some over others, it's natural. We have met many in real life and loved every minute of it. I am ok with the fact that my Mom is crazy about Theo and my Dad thinks Rosie is the diggity bomb.

We have talked to so many friends over the time, we sort of know when someone needs a little hug or a paw circle.

Ella Mae's Mom is local and came out to meet us at a meetup group outing, that was really nice putting a face with a name.

We have even talked on the phone with a Boston Terrier... it was really interesting, do you know they have an accent??? BOL....

Everyone knows Roc Deuce Henry Ford Bogart Thor Coach Beauregard Mr Chips and Theo are my home boys; they make me smile each and every day. Can't forget the sweet ladies either, wowza how beautibull are they... Sophie, Zoey, Marley, SugarLump, Maud the Baud, Lola Ella Mae Beckett Becky Rosie you darling girl, and so so many more.

Special thanks for all the lovely Christmas cards! This has been a joyous year filled with a little hiccup or two.

To the non doggie people you are so special to us, we luff you too!

We are not just Bulldog people, we are animal lovers and hope each and everyone of you have a very nice holiday. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May Santa Paws bring you a nice bag of prezzies and the Mommies diamonds... Hint hint...

Christmas is coming...

The trees are all up, the train sets are strategically placed, not saying anything about those trains right now, just know that I love love love my Daddy.LOL...

Santa Paws is due in six days and I am busy making prizes for him. Mommy bought beer and bourbon, we are not sure which he prefers so we are trying to cover our bases.

This year we asked Santa Paws to hold our prezzies and just bless Lola our friend with good health. She is a sweet heart of a girl and has had a rough way to go. While I sit in my comfy chair, I never had to experience what she has in her life. She is now in a home that loves her so much, and is blessed with that, but has a few hiccups here and there with her health.

Let us all remember the reason we celebrate this holiday, whichever religion you are. Please say a prayer, a quiet thought, a good vibe, a zen aura, a white light around her, that my friend, and Jackson's girlfriend champions this next hurdle as she has in the past.

Merry Christmas to my friends and Happy Holiday to my other friends. Let's come together for Peace and Love and Happiness.

Big G!

What is Christmas to me the head dog at the Gunner Manor

Christmas to me here at my house is many things. One it is gratitude for the love and life I have.

Next is the wonderful twitter friends :::: waving:::: Hi Ella Mae over here, we are practically neighbors, and Theo and Rosie; we are not far from them either. We cannot wait for our next meetup with them.

Continuing on... Christmas here at the Gunner abode is a house filled with decorations and trees. With food, fun, love the celebration of Christ's birthday.

We are donating to the other doggies that aren't as lucky as we are, we are buying gifts for our friends to show a little appreciation of our love for them, and we are sending out personalized cards to our 500000000 friends.

As we move on, the clothes are properly washed and pressed for each event we are attending, the hostess gifts are carefully selected and wrapped, we are ready to kick our version of 12 days of Christmas off.

As the Christian story goes about Jesus and the celebration of his birth, we are celebrating that we are here on earth, have each other, giving Thanks for the reason for the season and not getting preachy.

While it is a very religious holiday for the Christian believers, we cannot forget our non-Christian friends. We do not want to over-do and cause them to feel anything uncomfortable.

May each of you who read this know you are very important to me and that I am glad we met. Have peace and joy in your heart and a Merry Christmas.

The Gunner Manor will proudly display one single blue in the window for our fallen Law Enforcement brothers and sisters, we will proudly shine our blue light.

Please consider a moment of Thanks for our Military men and women that are away from families fighting for our freedoms. While the hot chocolate and cookies are being served, remember one that will be missing from their family.

With many thanks, we are sending love from my Manor to yours!!!!

Lola the Bulldog needs a little more help please!!!!!

Lola was rescued by her foster family in September from a kill shelter. Her previous companion passed away and the family dropped her at the shelter. She had severe dry eye, yeast infections in face and tail, double ear infection, a hernia, and at least 8 mammary tumors.

Her foster family nursed her through the major surgery the repaired all of these items. The vet could only remove 1 of her mammary chains during the first surgery. They were able to take out the tumors that were present on the opposite side as well but not the whole chain. One of her tumors were sent out for biopsy and the results were not good. They were confident that all the masses were removed but were nervous that some could come back on the side that still had mammary tissue.

This scenario played out as Lola shows 3 more small tumors 1 month after her first surgery. She will need another mastectomy to remove the tumors and remaining mammary tissue in hopes that she will not get any more tumors. Although Lola is a 8 year old girl she has a new life ahead of her with her foster/forever family. She shows no signs of discomfort and is enjoying the princess lifestyle she is now accustomed too. Thank you for all of your help!

Donate to Lola the Bulldog    <*******This is her direct link!!!

Hello from Gunner: Each and every year we adopt a family or two for the holidays. However last year our adoption families turned out to be very disappointing and heartbreaking. They were professional "receivers from multiple sources"

In this world their are not many guarantees, but one I can stake my life on this one, the money raised for Lola is strictly for Lola. It goes to the vet care for her. The foster/adoption family has spent a lot of resources on her and it's hard right now with the costs. One more surgery is all I am asking for. Any amount helps. Please consider adopting Lola for Christmas.

Everyone who donates, their name goes into a hat and when we reach enough money for the surgery and recovery costs, we are going to have a drawing for some very cool gifts. Gift cards to PetsMart, Starbucks, Dog Products, Fancy gift packs and more... Even a quilt included. !!!!

Much love and happiness for our friends!!!!

A little fun true story that will make an animal person giggle.

Everyone who breaths and knows my Mommy knows she is very much in love with me and most animals. She is a huge animal advocate (not weirdo). From the tender age of teenager she volunteered with the Clearwater Marine Science Center when it first opened. (Now called Clearwater Marine Aquarium where Winter the Dolphin movies are shot).

We are redecorating a few rooms. (Once she stops freaking out we will reschedule our kitchen remodel, but it's down the road)...

Ok the funny part.  We call 4 decorators to come over and give us a bid. 1-3 are clueless, but number 4 took the cake...

Fourth comes and says ... a dog with his own room, that is unique, and I sort of understand it. Draws out a plan and emails back to my Mom with a list of questions. She says the questions are a necessary evil and I need the dog to answer these...I kid you not....

1. Why do you want to decorate this room?  Answer:  Me needs an uplifting room to play in.

2. How much time does your animal spend in here? Answer: I'm the BABY and spend a fair amount of time in here, more if me is naughty.

3. What special effects can I offer? Answer: a retractable door to the treat closet would be great.

4.  How much square feet is devoted strictly to sleeping? Answer: Seriously I am a bulldog, me sleeps everywhere.

5.  Do you plan to entertain overnight guests in this room? Answer: DUDE seriously I get to bring womens home?

6. What is the budget for this room? Answer:  I got six bones for this project.

7. Do you need any built-ins that are not figured in the square footage of this room? Answer: I don't have thumbs, but I think you need to count everything in the room under square footage.

8. Can you relocate while the decorating is being done? Answer: Sweeeeet I can bunk with my Mom, sure no problem.

9. If there are conflicts in design plans, can we have a mediator in your household. Answer: I'm a bulldog and I kind of think it's my way or the highway.

10. How soon can we expect to start this project with a signed contract? Answer: As soon as you realize you have just sent a BULLDOG a questionnaire who has NO thumbs to sign... \

So we weren't sure how she would respond because I think these are sort of standard questions. But my Mom was in a goofy mood and pretty tired of explaining her love of bulldogs. Her design wishes are not that complicated.

No response yet, but I cannot wait to see what she writes. We have moved on and have our own design going, who needs to have weirdos judging my Man cave...BOL.....

Thanksgiving is over bring on the Christmas food!

We were so busy (ahem) Mommy was really. She baked and baked and then her and I packed up and headed east! Just a cozy trip for her and I. We started off by filling up the tank, that can only mean one thing... ROAD TRIP!! I am all packed for all weather occasions. I have my swim trunks, my fuzzy sweaters, my jacket and my tuxedo for the after six crowd.

My toys and squeakys were ready for the ride... We drove, we ate and we played.

Now it's over... So we are on to Christmas now. I want Prime Rib please, and I would prefer it served room service style, (thanks Deuce).

We are going to be elfs this year... cannot wait to spread joy throughout!

But please bring on the food....

Happy Thanksgiving and our Thankfulness

Happy Thanksgiving my friends. I really say that loosely because everyone calls themselves a friend, but the proof is in the pudding as they say.

We have been blessed with the best friends a dog and his Mom could ever have. Little did we know when we signed up and made our first friend Falco (Henry Fords older brother) would be have this much love and thanks for each of you. Walking in our shoes, caring about us, being there. I call each of you my friend because I would really be friends with you at the dog park...

We are very grateful for the ones we call friends and their continued generosity of good spirits.

Today I am very grateful for Rocco, Lola, Bryan, Gabe, and Harper for being in our lives even if it was a non-conventional way of meeting. Their good hearts and true friendship is very special to us.

Today I am very grateful for Henry Ford and Collins for their love of each other. The bond these two have makes me smile ear to ear. Henry had some big shoes to fill and he has done so quite well.

Today I am very grateful for Theo and Rosie for their constant entertainment and their pawrents decent hearts that look for the good in all and always have the bulldogs best interest at heart! Theo is my Mom's favorite dog by no stretch of the imagination, and one day I hope to be as cool as him.

Today I am very grateful for Deuce and Maud for introducing me to the world of room service and love of decorating.

Today I am very grateful and have enormous admiration for Artistic Bulldog Sam and Diesel, thank you for the your kindness and generous being. You have the most talent I have ever seen! We lub you man! Even if you stalk my bestie Rocco... LOL

Today I am very grateful for AuntBea who always has a nice word to say, who is the Aunt Bea you always wanted, minus the pickles.

Today I am very grateful for JeffTheTurtle for his non-canine friendship and love of cars, we have shared so much with each other, we genuinely like to call you our friends!

Today I am very grateful for Coach and Becky and their Pawrents for their friendship and caring. Really an impact on our lives.

Today I am very grateful for making friends with OvietheBulldog. Who introduced me to the the national campaign of fostering for our troops. Ovie is not only the best mascot for hockey (and the only one) Ovie gives back in droves...

Today I am very grateful for Beauregard and his Mom for keeping us grounded when the world didn't seem so right, and always being the champion of good spirits...

Today I am especially grateful for my sweetheart Sugar Lump and her sweetness. She was raised right, she is a real lady!!!

Today I am grateful for Siddy Dog for renewing my love of music and making me be nice to our mutual friend! If you were here this Thanksgiving you could watch the annual musical festival they have... hint hint come on down!

Today I am over the moon grateful for my twitter friends that make me smile, Paloma, Pia, Oscar, Mr Chips, Mr Lou Boo, Thor, Georgia, Winnie, Jethro, Chloe, JonMcC (you politically inspire me), Aunt Liz and stuffed Thor, Baby Q, Beckett, Oswalds Pack for making me want more puppies, and for all of you that read our dribble and love my paw prints in your life. I am probably missing many, but this is from the heart at o'dark thirty and I have been baking with my Mom for a few hours.

Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours. As my religion has been poked at and made fun of, I don't care, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I thank God every day for my friends.

It's a little chilly outside...

The weather has been really windy and chilly. I didn't wear my coat and I started to sneeze, you know the house warden will have me dressed to the nines. That's what we do here in the hood. We dress up. We fly away and have a good time.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends!! I hope you have a great day.

Counting down until Christmas ... it's the reason for the season.

Santa Paws is coming in one month from today.

We have family traditions, Christmas Eve we have the Feast of Seven Fishes. Another is Mommy gets all dolled up and goes to Midnight Mass. She said it reminds her of my MeMe's bar... That was bad huh? But it's true. The smell of liquor is flowing. One of our other traditions is to wake up together and see what Santa brought us.

We have a big Christmas dinner and dessert bar in the evening for our guests that stop over.

Because of our neighborhood issues, we decided to cancel all festivities because frankly we are scared out of our skins. However, Aunt Jodi has coaxed Mommy into living, not living in fear.

We will not have tons of packages under the tree, we are going to have a lot of folded pieces of paper decorated for what we are grateful for. Mommy is a kook and comes up with neat things. The Saturday after Christmas we are having a little shindig for the City workers. We are inviting them in for food and drinks.. That is if we stay safe...

Please be kind to each other, count your blessings not your calories (Aunt Jodi again)...

Happy Holidays!

Will our life ever be back to normal?

The sinkhole traffic in the neighborhood has died down to an occasional car or two a day. The sinkhole propaganda has slowed to only one in the us mail a day. No more door knockers since the "Naked door approach".  Drastic times need drastic measures.

With all that said, we are as nervous as you can imagine. We walk around with a flashlight or two checking for cracks and things. Several calls to the insurance company and our attorney. What are our options? Not many if you want to know the half of it.

In 2011 the Statute changed. The coverage offered is only Catastrophic, check your policies people. If you were renewed or rewritten 9 times out of 10 you only have catastrophic. If you do have sink hole coverage of the other kind, your deductible is $20,000. This isn't hype. After spending a over two DOZEN of years in insurance defense, I am sort of knowledgeable. Not an expert, but I do have a clue.

In plain language, we do not have coverage unless our house goes into the ground or the County deems it condemned. That takes a special circumstance, such as is the house in the ground, will it fall shortly, are their gaping holes that you can see through and what will happen if you do not fix this.

No one's fault but the fraud people. Take case in point a neighbor of mine who received a notice from their insurance company that they were going to be cancelled for non-renewal. They decided to put in a sinkhole claim for the cracks prior to the cancellation. They came out, did the study and found that she had cracks, but they couldn't 100% rule it a sinkhole or the other way either. She received $75,000 worth of repairs. This is now listed in the public records as a sinkhole, not a person who had settlement cracks for years and now calls foul. How about the inspectors in the past that saw a crack and yep, it's a sinkhole and several millions of dollars are given out to false claims.

In part I am glad they are filed in the court records, I just wished we were told of this prior to buying our house.

Back to what do we do? We don't know. We can't sell I don't think. We can't walk away from the house, we bought in prime time. Where do we go?

Pretty sure the psychological effects and affects are pretty life altering. We aren't living, and that is not right. We just wait and see I suppose. Live with what we have and try and figure out another alternative.

Prayers and more prayers are needed...

Christmas Card Exchange list - PLEASE READ

Deuce's Mom started a great list for us back in August for the Christmas card exchange, and has updated it. However, she is a little busy right now, so I made a list from her's and have updated it.

However, after looking at the lists, I have found we are missing quite a few. I am going to update it all day today, and then tomorrow I will direct message each and everyone to make sure they want to be on the list still and then email it out.

This list is really long, more than I expected. We have about 75 so far after my corrections. Please wait for the DM on twitter when I contact to you so I can keep it a little straight and have only one list going.

**** Please remember if you are not participating, I am not sending you the list****

Please keep these addresses private, it is a concern and we do not want to offend anyone with sharing their information.

Still uncertainty

Sunday proved to be a working day for the City workers. Trucks passed the house non-stop. Banging noises from the gates slamming and the traffic was just as crazy.  The onlookers have all taken to bicycles and indignant attitudes. How simply dare you try to back out of YOUR driveway when they have to park close to gawk. The bike riders do not understand why they cannot just bring a car, they are subjected to having 2 wheels instead of 4.

Folks this is a tragedy not a freak show. Two houses were totally demolished and other houses are in the mix of disaster. Is it so important that you see all the dirt shoveled in? Have you once thought to drop a few bucks for the dislocated families that lost everything? Oh wait, you mean this isn't about you anymore??????

To say I am still a little scared is an understatement. I walk around the house with the fear of is this a crack, did my wood floors creak this much before, what was that sound ???

We are not living, we are not breathing properly, we are not enjoying life and all that it includes.

Thankfully the helicopters have stopped, but the motorcycles that gather to rev their engines while they gather to discuss the sinkhole outside my window is not a soothing sound. My dog barks because he thinks someone is here. People walking on my property under my bedroom window, having loud conversations has made me a little unnerved.

Being in the location that I am, they should be grateful I have matured, because 10 to 20 years ago, I would have been all Annie Get your Gun with my 12 gauge and standing on my lawn saying get off my property. But I am gentler these days. The City imposed No Parking signs are dismissed, I hope they remember that when my Christmas party comes around. Wait, who am I kidding, I have canceled life and Christmas. Well next year if we are still here, I better get a parking pass.

Is this the way to live? I am shell shock, very sound sensitive. Great balls of fire we have more days to go of the repair, but nothing will heal me until we sell. Where do you move to? So many questions and not enough answers....

Day 3 feels like the calm before the storm

Today the helicopters didn't arrive in sync, actually they stayed home. Thank you Rain God's. However, the huge dump trucks started at the butt crack of Saturday morning. The onlookers haven't compiled yet, thank you again Rain!

Last night I was trying to do work, because we all know I haven't been able to concentrate on much. Suddenly I hear sounds. Oh boy here we go. It was thankfully rain, however, I realized I cannot live like this. I have canceled Thanksgiving plans, Christmas, remodeling (new kitchen was being installed next week),  I live with a few boxes packed by the front door in fear this is it, and have been searching for a new place to call maybe home... But who can live like this. Is it really worth it?

One thing that has come out of this, you really know who care about you. I mean to the core. Friendships are things we normally cherish, however, during this scary time, not so much on the other end of that friendship/family trail. For years I have said I should cut off the negative and move on. But my soft hearted ways always forgives.

Today as I said my morning prayers, I realized "as we forgive those who trespass against us"... I'm not that good! I will end up in confession and possibly hell, but this is something I would never in my life want to relive. To be able to count my social media people as friends sounds absurd to some, but do you know that is who reached out to us, and one lone cousin. Actually she is the wife of my cousin. Pretty telling huh?

I have lived through hurricanes, storms, disasters, crimes, and deaths. But this is one for the books. It's a constant ache that won't go away.

Here's to hoping today is a better day than yesterday, and not as great as tomorrow.

Sinkhole update and sweet lovable Gunner.

So yesterday we started with a massive threat to a connected street to our home. Sink holes were devouring two homes and the reality of it all hadn't set in. Once the media arrived and the police/fire it was all very clear our lives were forever changing. The initial homes didn't seem like a reality, it was like a bad dream you couldn't wake up from.

Today is day two and here is what is going on. The media was kind enough to not have the helicopters up until about 6:20 ish and it was one at first. Then the fun continued. It sounded like a war zone. Helicopters were closer than they had been and it was scary.

I spoke with the City Engineer and he did a cursory look at my house and tried to calm the tears streaming faster than you can imagine.

We are on alert is the best way to put this. When I purchased this house, sinkhole coverage was not available, only catastrophic. Which means any cracks, splits, damages is 100% on me. Unless the unspeakable happens and it falls into the ground and the adjuster deems it a total loss.

The engineer inspection is quite expensive, they want $15,000 just to test the ground. Not including the damages or repairs, which are NOT covered by insurance.

As I sit and type this, Gunner sits perched between the couch and my lap kissing me gently as if to say it's going to be alright.  What scares me most is leaving Gunner for any sort of time. We are a unit and that is my number 1 priority. I find myself more attached to him than I would ever imagine.

Here is what my day looks like:

Wake up to strange people milling outside my house, onlookers, gawkers with video, sinkhole whores, news media, past neighbors and scary looking people that are up to no good.

Throughout the day I go outside to the corner of my property and get an update from whomever is manning the road closure. I walk up to the site to see if I can bring them anything, water, food, snacks, candy, you name it.

I come back in and watch tv and generally cry. I cry for the unknown. I cry for the fact I cannot leave my house in fear when I return it won't be there. I cry that I have to crowd my dog and not give him space to have his freedom when I am gone, and finally I have no place to go to on this side of the state.

Finally I field calls from people that need me to do things for them, the do not disturb sign needs to be blinking, but I cannot shut off people. I still have to go on and it's tough. I haven't slept more than 1.5 in over 24 hours. I've tried, but I fear the house falling in.

In closing, writing is my outlet, I apologize if you don't like it, please understand I write this for Gunner and I.

Living in fear of the unknown.

This morning we were awakened by more helicopters that are much closer in proximity to our house than yesterday. I must admit our sleep was not sound last night. Every little sound we were up and worried. As hard as it was to sleep, we tried.

Emotionally we are drained and scared. It feels like the officials are wonderful to talk to the walk up traffic and tell them all how they are working very hard, but no one has approached the homeowners to say what we should be concerned about, what to do next or anything. We are living in a prison of fear. Do you leave the house for a minute to run errands, for fear you won't get back in the house. How much of your stuff do you pack up?

Strange cars dot your lawn and block your driveway, it's very confining. News outlets blast past and just look at you standing there wondering. Then comes the advertisers. That's right the Sinkhole Companies that canvassed the area leaving multiple pamphlets and attempting to scare you. Oh my gosh you could be next, REALLY??? Is that how you build business and trust?

We have law enforcement not allowing vehicle traffic unless you live on the street with proper id, but onlookers can take the valuable time from the engineers and staff on the ground to ask all kinds of questions that do not impact them. We the neighbors are not getting the answers. I am a bit further away so I am told don't worry too much.

Please someone send me the accurate worry meter, and please let me know if there is a monitor I can purchase that will detect the sinkhole so I stop freaking out and running out the front door to save my life and family.

I am pretty familiar with seismic instruments, I wonder if they can detect just a sinkhole. By the way, can I legally own a seismic transmitter? If I can, who will read the data? MacDill?  Bet I would be the coolest kid on the block with that huh?

We are not sure what to do; life is very unsettling and very nerve wracking. We ask our friends to understand our jumpy tempers, our emotional outbursts and know that we love you all, but right now, we cannot solve others problems, as much as this pains us, we are a little distracted. But we promise to be back caring for others really soon.

Wow Bulldogs and Sinkholes...

This morning Mommy got up to get ready for her doctors appointments and heard the helicopter overhead. Immediately she thought it was the Police looking for someone or an accident. She decided to check Twitter for traffic information and discovered it was a sinkhole. Holy Batcave it was 10 houses east and across the street.

Once she could put her big butt pants on, she ventured out to the neighborhood and discovered a horrific scene. The family from the house with the boat was outside and Mommy talked to them. She asked if they needed anything and offered to bring their dog to our house.

Immediately her attention was diverted to the second house with the fiberglass in-ground pool now above ground and cracked up. The second house was falling in as well.

Mommy learned that the insurance company had been arguing with the homeowners and didn't do the necessary repairs that were needed. This past two weeks the trucks and pins were being used.

We are so scared and unsure of our house and safety. Now the vultures are coming out, sinkhole companies are dropping their business cards and telling us to look all around, scare scare scare...

Not really sure what we do..

Hugs and love to all our friends!

My little man is growing up

We went to the groomer today, it was very very remarkable. First and foremost, I rode in the front seat of Mommy's car. No crate, not baby bumpers, just me and the seat. Holy Macaroni, it was like living on a tightrope. Mommy was not not nervous, she just drove me the 1.8 miles to the groomer and I was a real champ. I got out of the car and walked in like I knew where I was going.

They said I was GREAT!!!! Did you hear that mean old Groomer??? I was a perfect boy, I had nails, butthole, ears, and nose cleaned and ... the girl cleaned my wink too. NO issues!!! They loved me!

I'm a fairly good tipper, but today I dug deep in my bone money and I gave the lady a ten spot. Mommy thought I was being generous, but didn't bat an eye. I whipped out my Bulldog Wallet and said here ya go hot stuff. She harnessed me up and off I went back to the front seat.

Once I got in the front seat, I found a NEW BED... Bed #42. It's purpleish like Prince, but I have humped it 700 times and I might not eat it...

Tomorrow is mailing day of the halloween people, Mommy is dreading it.

Wish us luck and by the way, I'm a big boy now... woohoo...

Happy November it's almost time...

Happy November everyone. We are so excited for a few family traditions. One being the starting of the trains. We love to decorate and this year we are trying to have a Santa's Village in our house. Mommy has been designing for a long time, and hopefully we will have a nice display.

Christmas Card list is checked and double checked. Our cards are ordered and we are waiting and ready to go.

Santa has sent us some very cool gifts for giving out and we are looking for that special someone to give it to. The bulldog meetup's are getting geared up for more regular scheduling and that makes us excited.

We feel a little bit of a let down after this last party, but we know the next person that throws a party will have as much fun as we did. Can't wait for someone to plan the next one.

Bulldog tip for the day:

When applying suave on your dog's foot, use the baby sock method with two socks. Put ointment on and then cover with sock, then place a knee high or women's stocking type footie over it. This helps with the dog pulling the sock off.

A little calm after the storm...

Today was a busy work day and a busy bulldog day. I was able to do both and feel like I have accomplished something with my Mommy. Mommy hit the road running early and then the sitter person came and I didn't care if they were there or not, I needed to be with my Mommy. Mommy finished work early, came home and we went on a adventure.

Today we looked at ideas to raise money for BuckEyeBullDogs. We are going to offer lots of products that will benefit them, but we are hosting a "black collar" affair and hope that everyone will be able to come.

In March we are hosting a Cars and Paws show to support Rufus' Rascal's.

But for fun news, guess what I did today? ... I went and met a really cool bulldog that is service dog. He helps his Mommy with emotional things. He just came back from a cruise on a cruise ship! We are NOT doing that, I like the land too much. Unless my Nanny McFee Miss Tara comes, I am staying put!!!!

On Monday the category gift boxes get mailed from the party... Then what? Oh yeah... Santa is coming!!!! OMD I cannot wait, Mommy and I are going to give him my big ole list!!!!

This weekend will be fun because I am behaving now after our little talk, and I splained to Mom that I was just feeling neglected so that is why I was misbehaving. We kissed and made up, and she is on board with giving me more attention.

Happy Butt Wagging and until next time...

Love Gunner!

Back to being just Gunner

The party is over and we are getting back to normal.  We hope everyone had a great time dressing up and having fun. We started this little party to have fun and raise a little money for our friend Lola who was left to die. No joke, this was the worst situation. I hope everyone got their treat boxes that signed up for them.

The winners in each category are getting their prizes sent to them as well... Those outfits were amazing. Sorry I was a jerk about mine, and I guess you can tell my behavior hasn't improved. I'm in timeout until 2015.

Can you indulge me a moment to thank some very special people...

Sam - ArtisticBulldog, you are amazing and wonderful, I would walk on dirty qtips for you!
Rocco- You have been my best buddy, my mate, my pal. You have been awesome!
Theo- Thank you for stopping what you were doing to always support me, and I am so sorry you got grief for your costume, you are the coolest dude around.
Beauregard- You Mom rocks with calming my nutso Mom down
Deuce- Dude it wouldn't be the same without you. You are my Ambassador !!!
JPep- Thanks for listening when the ole Mommy went bat poop cray cray.

Then the biggest thanks of all is to those of you who were there, who gave money when I know it was tough, I sincerely know it was hard to do. You brought my friend Lola back and she has a lot of life left in her. Not many would take on an 8 maybe 9 year old with that much medical.

We are not finished, but I don't want your eyes leaky. We are getting started with Rufus' Rascals Foundation that will hopefully fund and help animals everywhere that need a little extra. Help with medical bills, bring joy to our world, not just bulldogs, but our friends everywhere.

Thank you for making us have a smile each and every day!

Love Gunner

Halloween party

We are eagerly working hard with all our resources to make sure everyone gets a great treat bag. We are NOT sending out any kinds of jerky or items that are made in China. As you know from Rocco's birthday party favor bag, they were gourmet specialty treats. We have gone through each and every product. I am thankful to have a small staff from my real world business to do this with My Mom.

Animal safety is first. If you are not comfortable with our treats please let me know, and I will scratch your name from the list.

Regards,

Gunner

Getting back to some sort of normal

Mom and I have had a lot going on since the accident. We are trying to get our grove back, and I think we may be coming to an end of all that stuff.

Her pains are still there, but her treatment has changed a lot. We are getting our house ready for the fall decorations and upcoming holidays. We are big holiday people. I have tried no less than 7 costumes for halloween.

Our Bulldog club is hosting a big meeting this month and Mommy is helping out. I am staying home, and I am quite sure my Mom wishes she was staying with me.

My foster sister that has diabetes is really having some issues, she is having to go to the Dog Doc for other issues. I am crossing my paws that I stay healthy, cause we don't want to visit the vet unless it's for fun.

Next week we will start the Halloween treat bags being mailed out. I will post about the Halloween Costume Party again, but this is my blog and it's time to take it back and make it about me!!!

We get our last photo session pictures in a couple of weeks, I am quite sure we are going again for photos. We are not happy.

January I am suppose to shoot my part of the movie I am in. I am just hoping it goes big, I would love to be on the BIG Screen.

This week is National Vet Tech's Appreciation week. If you love your Vet Tech, tell them!! They will appreciate it!

Big G!

Halloween Costume Party! October 29th 2013

Our party is going to be great! It doesn't cost a thing, but I am hoping you might donate to our BuckeyeBulldog Rescue dog Lola. http://www.buckeyebulldogrescue.org/lola.html

The prizes are going to be great! Top prize is a portrait prepared by Artistic Bulldog. That is reason alone to enter !!! Plus other categories will get good prize packs too. I would love to keep all the prizes but my Mom say's its for our friends.

If you don't remember; Lola came to Buckeye Bulldog Rescue after being dropped at a kill shelter when her parents passed away. She came to the foster family with many health issues that are quite costly! If you can donate anything, they would be so appreciative. I am sponsoring this party and all the prizes for my friends to celebrate Halloween and see each other in our finest! Here is Lola's link http://www.buckeyebulldogrescue.org/lola.html

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my secretary (Mommy) at my email: GunnerthisGunsforHire@gmail.com

Bulldogs and traveling...

Why not just pack a bag and go away with your bulldog. One might ask is there any difference in traveling with another breed type. The answer is YES YES YES.

First and foremost, when hotels hear you are bringing a bulldog they first squint their noses and then say we don't allow big dogs. Hello, it's me down here, a little guy.

Second, we cannot travel in little cute carriers like other breeds, unless we are in the wee puppy stages.

Thirdly, temperature really matters to us, because we have push faces and our breathing isn't so great.

So to travel with the bulldog it takes some planning. Do we drive, do we fly, do we stay home or do we go and leave the dog home. Most would probably go with option go and leave the dog home, we are not the normal. As clearly demonstrated in our previous posts.

We call ahead, find a local vet that is in the area so we can avoid middle of the night panic calls to our vet 1000 miles away. Next we pack a comfort pack with; treats, toys, bones, nom noms, wipes, water bottles and a small first aid kit. Then we pack his travel bag that consists of food, clothes (yes I wear clothes don't judge me) towels, extra water bowls, a small wind up clock, harness, collars, leads, socks and alcohol for Mommy. Now the hardware so to speak, stroller, crates, bedding, night-lights and story books. This is a great process.

Now lets fly... OMD you cannot take 95% of what I have listed above.

The list of what it takes to make this bulldog travel wears me out. We traveled, we came home and I want to go to bed for 100 hours.
