Gunner's house is a mess

The Gunner house, let's face it, he owns everything... is a mess. I am on an emotional roller coaster house hunting, trying to live peacefully and taking care of Gunner. We are not in a perfect setting, we are sort of limited to the outdoor space because of a big CEMENT pond, in some areas of the world they are called a swimming pool. Bulldogs can't swim, and MOST not all don't like the water. BUZZ fail, Gunner has no fear.

So I take him out front on a leash each and every potty break. From 6-7 am to 1-3 am depending on Lord Pain in the Ass' wishes.  I love him dearly but I wonder what was I thinking getting a dog.

So not to be outdone in my stupidity, I go to buy another PUPPY. Not just a puppy, another BULLDOG puppy.  Still living in the same circumstances and still pulling my hair out. While I love and adore this other puppy, it will have as much work needed as Gunner did/does.

Gunner is far too aggressive for my liking, so off to behavior school for him next week. Yes that's right my Bulldog is a mess, a hot mess as Chelsea Handler says. I sort of blame her for his actions because he watched her when he was a wee pup with me at night and I think she's to blame. If he could talk (Gunner) I am sure he was say get me some Vodka bitch... Belevedere only...

So as I head out to buy a house tomorrow, hey stranger things have happened, I will sigh several times as I think of all that mess waiting for me at home. If I don't return home, someone give Gunner some damn Vodka... Thank you very much!!!

What didn't work for Gunner's fast eating...

I have read all along that Bulldogs that eat fast will have problems, so I have been concerned that Gunner would eat to fast. Yesterday afternoon Gunner went out to potty, came in and played hard on da Mommy's bed. He immediately went to eat wherein I noticed he was eating really really fast. So I decided to try the ball in the food dish in lieu of the actual bowl that I do not own as of yet...

NOT the best idea for Gunner. I nearly scarred him for life. He wouldn't even walk past the bowl with half his remaining supper in it. I sat on the floor and hand fed him the balance and coaxed him into eating. It was quite an ordeal. I knew I had to rectify it immediately, so after he finally would go near the bowl I gave him a little more food. He was fine...

This morning, I prepared his breakfast (scooped it out) and put it in the bowl, his short term memory was erased, whew... he was back to normal... What an experience... On our next visit to the vet, I will ask what his suggestions are and if the slow eat bowl will work. Never using the ball trick again...

Went to the dog beach for the first time!

This early morning we loaded the car with Gunner's stuff; car seat, towels, toys, water bowl, water, toys, treats, poopy bags, extra clothes (for him) baby wipes, and a few other non necessary things. So here we go. We drove to Davis Island Dog beach for a morning of fun with the bulldogs. There were about 6 or 7 bulldogs plus a bunch of other dogs.

I kept Gunner on a leash because this was water and his first time ever. I slowly walked him in the area and was greeted by other bulldog owners. They sniffed and pawed each other (the dogs not the owners) and we started our fun.  Gunner met a lot of dogs and had a good time. He is NOT afraid of water and went right in with the big dogs. Scared his Mommy a bit, but we survived. He had a great time and didn't really understand why people thought he was fat. A few said wow he is fat, which he isn't.  He one week shy of being 6 months old and is about 35 pounds or so. He has no fat rolls and is healthy.

As in any group, there are the pickers and we met them. What evs as they say in Hollywood... Gunner is a show dog that clearly stood out in the pack today, he received many oohs and ahhhs and frankly he is a star in my eyes any day of the week.

I was pretty excited to see my dog was healthy, happy and lovable to me...

Not sure we are doing the dog beach again since he has no fears of water, but I can say this, he will be socialized more in the coming weeks!

So busy and then a bit sick again!

We have been so busy and then today,  Mommy gave Gunner the big dogs Milk Bone, now he has poopy butt. He has had diarrhea for a good hour or so and it's bad. I hope my little guy gets better. I cannot tell if it's from the milk bone or the rain. He seems to have rain sensitivity.  So it's sleep with one eye open for us.

I feel bad, I really do...

Sniffles and kisses

Gunner has the sniffles and it doesn't worry me too much because he gives extra kisses. I think he has allergies to something that is blooming. He told me last night he was allergic to the cat and the big dogs. He really wants to be an only dog right now.

I am hoping the sniffles go away but not the kisses, I absolutely love my adoraBULL Gunner kisses... Makes the rest of the world seem so small.

Celebrating LARGE!!! We have a lot to be Thankful for

My big sister from another Mister was thought to have cancer, we have been crossing our paws and praying like crazy for her. Well the BEST Vet called today to say she doesn't have cancer, she has a wicked infection and we will let the meds run it's course and go from there.

It's a huge relief we were so worried about her and on top of it all, we can't imagine our little fur family having this issue. We are blessed and thankful and pray for all the other animals that they get the wonderful results we did.

How do you handle the Fireworks on the 4th with your animals?

Baby Gunner is not fond of loud noises, neither was his 4 legged Father, therefore, I have a scared-ee-cat on my hands. Not to mention the other two 4 legged sisters from another Mister are afraid as well.

I tried benedryl with the Aussies, but it didn't phase them. I also tried the scared shirt and it was more of a hassle for them. My usual was praying for rain, but this year I think over the last week or so we had enough rain thank you...

I don't want to use a medication, I just feel as though too much medication is not good and if the dogs get sick (as one is) their body won't react well to extra meds...

Looking for a suggestion of any kind. My bed is only so big and I would like to have an enjoyable 4th. Over the last 7 years I have been stuck at home curled in my bed with 2 big hairy dogs. Now I could add a third...yikes...

Please send help! LOL
