Some gave all... Memorial Day 2014

Do you know what it means to serve? Do you have a friend/family/relative who served in the Armed Forces? Believe it or not Memorial Day is not National BBQ weekend.  The holiday was designed to honor those who served, those we lost,  and those we will never forget.

We come from a long line of military involvement. My Mom's Grandfather served, her Dad served, her Uncles served, her first love served and continues to serve. Several relatives have served and lost their lives in battle. My Daddy's family all served, his Mom served, his Dad and Uncles served.

We thank our friends, family and hero's who have served our Country proudly. We remember the lost but never forgotten, we give Thanks to the families who sacrificed.

Being a military family is very difficult, who can explain why someone risks their life to fight for a country that hasn't fought very hard for them?

May God bless each of our veterans, our enlisted, our officers, and make this memorial day special.

First Birthday's New Babies and the summer...

Our twitter family is expanding by leaps and bounds. We love all our friends and the support we each have for one another.

Our First new born Harpsickle (Harper Gunnerette) just celebrated her first birthday. It was quite a party for the family. We luff Harper because she is Rocco and Lola's little sister. She is the most awesomeness little girl.

Next on the route came Carter Gunner... he has dazzled our world with his smile. Magoo and O are great siblings to him and he is the most awesome baby boy.

Next all heck broke loose. I think it was Rocco's birthday party, because MANY human Mommies got pups in their belly.

First up on the new delivery will be my BFF Deuce. His sisfur Liesel Mae Gunnertte is due end of May-ish 30th the doc says.

Second up is Aunt Liz (LizBeeGee) she's bringing home a girl for Sophie and cousin Thor. Again, it was around Roc's party... I'm just saying...

Third up is my sweet sweet Beckett's Mommy. She is breaking the chain and bringing home a BOY. OMD a boy puppy. Baby Boy Richard Gunner Castle is making his way around June/July.
Now this baby begin growing I fink at Lola's party in September.

Our summer will be filled with new babies and the growth of our twitter family. We are hoping to meet up with some of our friends in person and making memories that will last for a life time.

One thing I want to say about all these Mommy's and Daddy's... NOT once did you hear, oh no we have to get rid of our dog because of the baby. No Sir... Rocco's Mommy took in a Foster when she had a 4 month old baby and a big Daddy baby at home.  Magoo's family keep taking them in like they are on fire and wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you to the wonderful families and our love and prayers go out to you!

Wine and Relationships

Mom has been on sick bed for a few days, and last night she was over being in bed. Her girlfriend Lolly called and said come with me to this Wine and Relationship outing at the Pig. (that's the nickname they call this place). So Mom said sure, what the heck.

25 women, several cases of wine and some of the most 1950's advice you will ever hear.

The speaker had a topic of  "How to keep your man happy at home"... Now at first with the wine thing, Mom was thinking "toys" "creams" "sexy lingerie"... Oh no, not even close.

1.  Always make sure his favorite foods are plentiful in the house.
2. If there is an extra piece of anything, it always goes to the man.
3.  Keep the house as clean as his Mother's.
4. Always freshly shower before he gets home and apply makeup.
5. Never complain about your day until he is fully unwound.
6. Surprise him with "guy" time
7. Never make a big deal about missed events
8. Keep your side of the closet very neat
9. Always thank him for providing a wonderful home
10. He is always right, if in doubt, he is ALWAYS right.

Mommy was waiting for the punchline, and clearly when it didn't arrive, she began to make her own punchlines.  This lady was top dog serious and asked Mommy how many times had she been divorced... Oh no she didn't... Mom was polite and said I'll tell you mine if you share your's... This crack pot has been divorced 3 times... My Mom is a total rookie, only once and she lives with the dude she divorced. So I think it's only .5 divorce.

So keeping in true Mom fashion, she challenged each and every factoid, lady was befuddled. The wine wasn't nearly plentiful to swallow this load of b.s.

In final Mom said and what is the mans responsibility for keeping the woman happy at home?
Because food, extra pieces, showers, complaints, girl time, missed events, closet neatness, thankfulness and being right has nothing to do with the emotional, physical and spiritual needs a person longs for. NOT to mention Mom has made MORE money than most of her men in her life and therefore, shouldn't she be the one being waited on? Hmmm...

She left only to find Gunner's daddy had picked up her dry cleaning, vacuumed and left a check for the clean sheet lady... Maybe she should teach that class...

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there 2 or 4 legged

My Mom is my only Mom, and that is ok fine with me. I am her only baby, and again that is A -OK with me. I like that I am her baby and she loves me unconditionally. I also love the fact she thinks she gave birth to me. It does make for some interesting stares when others are talking about their kids and she pipes up with pictures of me.

What? You don't think she is a Mom? Palheese I say. She feeds, clothes (you've seen the pictures) houses, provides medical insurance, structured playtime, toys, treats, furniture, and tons of love. I have regular babysitters so I am not left alone, and I am her first and foremost priority. She loves me wholly.

There are many like my Mom, who do not have human kids, but that doesn't mean they are not Mother's or Father's. I take my hat off to say, Happy Mother's Day Mommy, we all love you and how good you are to me.!

Signed,

Gunner Mac

Detroit Bulldog Rescue - Please take a moment

http://www.detroitbulldogrescue.org/

So here we are... One sick little girl that is only weighing about 31 pounds. She was dropped at a gas station in deplorable condition. I cannot bare to put the horrifying picture up, but I can tell you this, it's very bad.

In all the years of Law Enforcement both parents spent, Daddy being 34 plus years in service, he has never ever seen such a horrific act. We are a small type family, blended if you will, a Mom, a Dad, another Dad, and 1000 twitter family members.  We are trying to help One Dog At A Time. We are in process for our Foundation of Rufus' Rascals that is trying to do just that, helping Bulldogs One Dog At A Time. Until the finalization of the foundation, it's just been my bone account, and that's ok with us!

We are hosting a Bulldog One Dog At A Time Raffle. Everyone who donates will get their name in the hat and we will have a drawing. In addition, with the GENEROUS donation of her time and talent, Sam has allowed us to print Capt. Gunner Underwear Shirts to sell as a fundraiser too. All the profits will go to donation of Rufus' Rascals One Dog At A Time, and in this case our Detroit Motor City Sweetie without a name. I would love to name her Ava, but that's a personal choice.

Please donate one cost of a Latte'.   What is really cool about Detroit Bulldog Rescue is they are a 501(c)(3) and your donation is tax deductible. They will provide you a receipt for your taxes.

Go to the website and click Donate it's just that easy. In addition, one more personal favor, please keep this moving, please keep the Rescues (All of them) in your hearts and thoughts. No one does this for the money, at least not the ones we support!

Thank you!

Here is the link to one of the best Bulldog Rescues! We need your help!!!! Please please dig deep, hit the piggy bank if you can.

I am putting together a raffle package for anyone that donates and the winner will get the package mailed to them.

Snake season is happening now.

Just an FYI if you live in Florida you might want to be mindful of containers that are tipped over, and under your grill covers, or outdoor kitchens. SNAKES are about to deliver.

Our wonderful friend the Exotic Pet Dealer was over and chased a snake around enough to scare the bat poop crazies out of my Mom, started warning us about the snakes that are about to have babies.

If your neighbor doesn't mow their lawn, the snakes live there, but then they move, guess where to? You guessed it, your yard. I put up pictures of scary things, and no snake signs, but there is one pesky little one that my Mom would love to put a cap in his ass if you know what I mean, if it weren't you know, so close to our neighbors.

Snakes bite and we as nose pushing crazy sniffing animals are always entirely too close before it's too late. So be careful and always carry something to poke with, not your foot.

Signed,

Scurred but not showing it, Gunner
