Flashback a year ago...Lola

At about 1130 am September 19th 2013 my ibone rang. It was Rocco's dad. He was a bit excited and said he had some very exciting news. He was on his way to a photo shoot and received a call to rescue this poor girl that was left at a shelter from the caregivers family. The owner had died and this little girl was just left off like a forgotten piece of furniture.

He went on to say he whipped around in his car and headed straight to the shelter to pick her up. You could tears in his voice. He was not only happy but scared. He and Mrs had a 4 month old baby at home, and well he forgot to ASK Mrs. He was only thinking he had to rescue this little lady before it was too late. I believe they said she had only 30 minutes to go.

My Mom and I were driving and stopped the car. We were shaking, this was a very generous and caring person doing this. We knew we had to help out somehow. He only had preliminary info on her but knew medical treatment was necessary.

From there, I cannot share all that happened and do it justice, but I will tell you never once did we lose faith or hope that Lola was in the right place. All our twitter friends rallied and we started a Lola fund. We had donations from everyone!

Lola was in a home that wanted and loved her, and we were going to help on the medical bills because that is what a Twitter Family does. Lola didn't have a great prognosis and a return call came again that she needed more medical treatment. WE rallied again and we helped with the costs.

What most do not know about Lola is she has been a challenge from day one. She was older when she came to live in the family. She was never treated as a pet, only a breeding dog. My admiration for both Bryan (Rocco's Dad) and Gabe grew tremendously. Mrs. had a full-time job, a new baby, a big baby BRYAN and Rocco, and took in another baby to take care of. Not once did they miss a beat in treating her like she was always there, and she was part of their family.

Keep in mind we helped with some of the medical bills, not all. Lola has the best family in the world and we want to say Happy Gotcha Day Lola ! We all love you very much and thank your Parents and Harpsickle for the joy you bring to our lives.

Signed your Twitter family!
